DESCRIPTION:This course builds on the basics to focus on the specific Civil 3D tools you need for utility and infrastructure projects in public works. You’ll learn to construct collaborative models\, integrate design elements from multiple disciplines\, and complete utility projects efficiently\, giving you the practical skills to manage complex public agency designs with confidence. \nThis four (4) hour course is delivered in two (2)\, two-hour long sessions that students can attend online\, right from their own desk. A live instructor will explain the detailed functions\, and address questions as the class progresses. \nNote: Instructor will present using Autodesk Civil 3D 2026. Students who wish to follow along with instructor are encouraged to use the same version. \nPrerequisite: Students should have a working knowledge of AutoCAD. \nRecording: Registrants for a course will receive access to a recording of each session for 7 consecutive days. Access will start the next business day after the session ends. \nSession 1: Pipe Networks \n\nLaying out gravity systems using design rules\nAdjusting the vertical design of pipe runs in profile\nAdding and modifying structures and pipes\nUsing catchments to analyze drainage areas\n\nSession 2: Pressure Networks \n\nUnderstanding how pressure pipes are influenced by other design elements\nCreating pipe runs from other objects\nPlacing pressure pipes in profile and avoiding conflicts\nCombining pipe runs and adding appurtenances
