SUMMARY:Substation Site Development in Civil 3D II
DESCRIPTION:Building on the fundamentals covered in Level I\, this course introduces alignment\, profile\, and corridor modeling workflows essential for refining substation site designs. You’ll learn to design access roads and drainage features\, develop and edit profiles\, and create simple corridors for roads and ditches. The class emphasizes integrating grading\, surfaces\, profiles\, and corridors into a cohesive Civil 3D model for accurate design\, documentation\, and quantity analysis. \nThis course is delivered in 2 two-hour sessions. A live instructor explains the detailed functions and addresses questions as the class progresses. \n​Note: Instructor will present using Autodesk Civil 3D 2026. Students who wish to follow along with instructor are encouraged to use the same version. \nPrerequisite: Students should have a working knowledge of Autodesk Civil 3D. \nRecording: Registrants for a course will receive access to a recording of each session for 7 consecutive days. Access will start the next business day after the session ends. \nSession 1: Alignments & Profiles \n\nCreating alignments for access roads and utilities\nAlignment styles\, labels\, and design criteria\nGenerating existing ground profiles from surfaces\nDesigning proposed profiles with vertical geometry tools\nProfile view styles and band sets\nManaging multiple profiles and profile data references\nProfile annotation and documentation standard\n\nSession 2: Simple Corridor Modeling & Design Integration \n\nAssemblies and subassemblies for access roads and ditches\nCorridor creation and targeting (alignments\, profiles\, surfaces)\nCorridor regions and transitions\nExtracting corridor surfaces and feature lines\nCreating cross sections and section views\nCorridor quantity takeoffs and material volumes\nIntegrating grading\, profiles\, and corridors into a unified model
