Microsoft Excel for Construction Management I

Most Excel users are comfortable with the basics, but hesitate to go further for fear of breaking what already works. This course is designed for everyday Excel users who want to build smarter, more efficient worksheets. You’ll learn how to use advanced formulas and functions, along with charts and tables, to save time, improve accuracy, and turn data into clear, meaningful information.

Note: Instructor will be using the latest version of Microsoft Excel and students are encouraged to use same.

Recording: Registrants for a course will receive access to a recording of each session for 7 consecutive days. Access will start the next business day after the session ends.

Session 1: Excel Overview and Basics

  • Review the functions and interface within Excel
  • Loading templates from Microsoft
  • Navigating Excel
  • Formulas, Number Types
  • Adding Notes and Comments to Cells
  • Freezing Cells, Printing, and Headers

Session 2: Fun with Functions and Formulas

  • Using scheduling specific formulas
  • Conditional Formatting related to dates and scheduling
  • Using Data Validation within a schedule
  • Developing a Gantt Chart within Excel
