AutoCAD Drafting Basics

AutoCAD Drafting Basics is a comprehensive, six-level training program designed to take you from basic to advanced-level AutoCAD functionality through a clear, progressive learning path. Starting with the fundamentals of navigating drawings, drafting basic geometry, and making simple edits, the series builds steadily into professional-level skills such as layer management, annotation, blocks and attributes, advanced drafting controls, external references, layout and viewport setup, and CAD standards implementation. Each level builds on the previous one, combining practical instruction with real-world workflows so you can immediately apply what you learn. Whether you’re brand new to AutoCAD or looking to strengthen your drafting efficiency, accuracy, and standardization, this course series equips you with the skills and confidence to produce clean, consistent, and professional drawings at every stage of your career.

This live online series offers 6 four-hour courses. You can take all 6 courses or just the ones that meet your needs. Each separate course is delivered in 2 two-hour sessions. A live instructor explains the detailed functions and addresses questions as the class progresses.

Note: Instructor will present using Autodesk AutoCAD 2026. Students who wish to follow along with instructor are encouraged to use the same version.

Recording: Registrants for a course will receive access to a recording of each session for 7 consecutive days. Access will start the next business day after the session ends.
