Preliminary Designs in InfraWorks

The Preliminary Designs in InfraWorks course series teaches you how to leverage Autodesk InfraWorks to develop compelling, data-rich 3D models for early-stage infrastructure design. Beginning with the fundamentals of model creation and data integration, you’ll learn how to bring GIS and CAD information together into intelligent, visual environments that clearly communicate design intent. The series then advances into conceptual design workflows - sketching roads, adding site features, analyzing watersheds, and preparing models for collaboration and presentation, while setting the stage for a smooth transition into AutoCAD Civil 3D. By the end of the series, you’ll be equipped to create impactful preliminary designs that support decision-making, stakeholder approvals, and project momentum.

This live online series offers 2 four-hour courses. You can take both courses or just the one that meets your needs. Each separate course is delivered in 2 two-hour sessions. A live instructor explains the detailed functions and addresses questions as the class progresses.

Note: Instructor will present using Autodesk InfraWorks 2026. Students who wish to follow along with instructor are encouraged to use the same version.

Recording: Registrants for a course will receive access to a recording of each session for 7 consecutive days. Access will start the next business day after the session ends.
