Roadway Rehabilitation in Civil 3D

Roadway rehabilitation work - milling, overlays, leveling, and widening - can feel confusing in Civil 3D without the right approach. The Roadway Rehabilitation in Civil 3D course series breaks down the rehab workflow into clear, manageable steps so designers can build models that actually reflect how roads are rehabilitated in the field. Starting with core rehab corridor concepts and moving into more advanced scenarios like intersections, superelevation, and curb and sidewalk replacement, these courses focus on practical techniques you can use right away. By the end of the series, you’ll be able to create flexible rehab corridors, adjust assemblies with confidence, and produce accurate reports for real-world roadway rehabilitation projects.

This live online series offers 2 four-hour courses. You can take both courses or just the one that meets your needs. Each separate course is delivered in 2 two-hour sessions. A live instructor explains the detailed functions and addresses questions as the class progresses.

Note: Instructor will present using Autodesk Civil 3D 2026. Students who wish to follow along with instructor are encouraged to use the same version.

Prerequisite: Students should have a working knowledge of Autodesk Civil 3D.

Recording: Registrants for a course will receive access to a recording of each session for 7 consecutive days. Access will start the next business day after the session ends.

Road repair and rehabilitation are often misunderstood in Civil 3D. This course introduces designers to the fundamentals of creating and managing rehab corridors. You’ll learn to set up new rehab corridors, apply basic corridor controls, edit and add subassemblies, and use the Rehab Manager to generate reports for accurate, efficient roadway rehabilitation design.

Session 1: Understanding Roadway Rehab Corridors

  • Road Rehab Concepts Explained
  • Existing Design Elements for Rehab Corridors
  • Creating a New Rehab Corridor
  • Basic Rehab Corridor Controls

Session 2: Finalizing Roadway Rehab Design

  • Finding and Editing Rehab Subassemblies
  • Adding Standard Subassemblies to Rehab Assemblies
  • Using Rehab Manager
  • Generating Reports

Building on Level I, this course dives into advanced rehabilitation corridor techniques in Civil 3D. You’ll learn to create flexible, editable, and intelligent rehab models for complex corridors, including intersections, custom assembly sets, and advanced subassembly configurations. The class also covers applying superelevation to rehab projects, replacing curbs and sidewalks, and best practices for integrating legacy assemblies, giving you the tools to efficiently model and manage complex roadway rehabilitation designs.

Session 1: Rehab in Complex Corridors

  • Creating Custom Assembly Sets for Complex Corridors
  • Adjusting Rehab Subassembly Parameters
  • Rehab in Intersections
  • Adding and Configuring Additional Subassemblies

Session 2: Rehab and Superelevation

  • Applying Superelevation to a Roadway Design
  • Addressing Superelevation in Rehab
  • Using the Replace Curb and Sidewalk Assemblies
  • Best Practices with Legacy Rehab Assemblies
