Build Better Corridors in AutoCAD Civil 3D Using Subassembly Composer

$425 per person | 8 CPC/CEU credits

If you design Corridors in AutoCAD Civil 3D, you know that the built-in assemblies and subassemblies leave a lot to be desired. They always seem to be either missing elements you need, or far too complex for real world use. What you need is to quickly and easily develop your own subassemblies that meet your specific design needs, and that can be saved/re-used on future projects. AutoCAD Civil 3D has a tool for that called “Subassembly Composer” but most have no idea how to use it reliably, or even where to begin learning this tool.

ZenTek Consultants, the nationally recognized leader in Civil technologies can show you how to make your Corridors behave the way you need in this unique class that’s vital to anyone who works with road/corridor design.

This eight (8) hour course is delivered in four (4), two-hour long sessions that students can attend online, right from their own desk. A live instructor will explain the detailed functions of Subassembly Composer, and address questions as the class progresses.

Note: Instructor will present using Autodesk AutoCAD Civil 3D 2022. Students who wish to follow along with instructor are encouraged to use the same version.

Recording: Registrants for this course will receive access to a recording of each session for 48 consecutive hours. Access will start the next business day after the session ends.

Must attend all four sessions.

Session 1: Understanding the Basics

  • Getting to Know the User Interface
  • Defining Points, Links, and Shapes
  • Creating Input/Output Parameters
  • Setting Up Target Parameters
  • Importing PKT Files into Civil 3D

Session 2: Advanced Geometry

  • Driving Intersection Points
  • Creating Curved Geometry
  • Using Surface Links for Roadway Rehab
  • Daylighting Parabolically
  • Understanding Auxiliary Geometry

Session 3: More Advanced Geometry

  • Using Marked Points with Custom Assemblies
  • Filleting Link Segments
  • Creating Offset Links
  • Developing Conditional Subassemblies with Loop Geometry

Session 4: Tools for Workflow

  • Organizing Subassembly Geometry with Embedded Flowcharts and Sequences
  • Building Switch and Enumeration Sequences Using Variables
