Conceptual Planning in Civil 3D

The Conceptual Planning in Civil 3D course series is designed to help civil designers move beyond static 2D sketches and create conceptual site layouts that can be efficiently carried through to full design development. Beginning with residential road and parcel layout concepts, the series introduces practical Civil 3D tools for creating intelligent alignments and dynamic parcels. It then advances into conceptual grading and surface design using feature lines and surfaces, allowing your early-stage designs to serve as a reliable foundation for detailed site development. These courses focus on efficiency, accuracy, and real-world workflows that save time and improve project profitability.

This live online series offers 2 four-hour courses. You can take both courses or just the one that meets your needs. Each separate course is delivered in 2 two-hour sessions. A live instructor explains the detailed functions and addresses questions as the class progresses.

​Note: Instructor will present using Autodesk Civil 3D 2026. Students who wish to follow along with instructor are encouraged to use the same version.

Prerequisite: Students should have a working knowledge of Autodesk Civil 3D.

Recording: Registrants for a course will receive access to a recording of each session for 7 consecutive days. Access will start the next business day after the session ends.
