Detailed Corridor Designs in Civil 3D

The Detailed Corridor Designs in Civil 3D course series helps designers move beyond simple linear corridors and handle complex roadway layouts with confidence. You’ll start by learning how to create cul-de-sacs, intersections, and multi-region corridors using Civil 3D’s assembly and surface tools. From there, the series explores rehabilitation corridors and roundabout design, including approach profiles, corridor geometry, and control parameters. Through practical, step-by-step workflows, you’ll gain the skills to create accurate, constructible corridor models while reducing rework and improving project efficiency.

This live online series offers 2 four-hour courses. You can take both courses or just the one that meets your needs. Each separate course is delivered in 2 two-hour sessions. A live instructor explains the detailed functions and addresses questions as the class progresses.

Note: Instructor will present using Autodesk Civil 3D 2026. Students who wish to follow along with instructor are encouraged to use the same version.

Prerequisite: Students should have a working knowledge of Autodesk Civil 3D.

Recording: Registrants for a course will receive access to a recording of each session for 7 consecutive days. Access will start the next business day after the session ends.

Building simple linear corridors is just the beginning - designing cul-de-sacs, intersections, and complex regions requires advanced skills. This course teaches Civil 3D users how to handle these design challenges efficiently and accurately. You’ll learn to create cul-de-sac assemblies and profiles, work with multiple baselines and assemblies, and use the Intersection Wizard to develop precise intersection surfaces and assembly sets.

Session 1: Working with Cul-De-Sacs

  • Creating and working with Regions
  • Building Cul-De-Sac Profiles
  • Creating Cul-De-Sac Assemblies
  • Creating and working with multiple Baselines
  • Adding Multiple Assemblies to a Design

Session 2: Working with Intersections

  • Understanding the Intersection Wizard
  • Setting Offsets and Targets
  • Working with Regions
  • Understanding, creating, and assigning Assembly Sets
  • Creating and fine-tuning intersection Surfaces
