Survey Mapping in Civil 3D

The Survey Mapping in Civil 3D course series is designed to help surveyors and civil professionals build accurate, reliable, and professional survey basemaps using Autodesk Civil 3D. Beginning with the fundamentals of point data management and surface modeling, and progressing into practical survey drafting, alignments, and profiles, this series focuses on real-world workflows often missed in general training. Through hands-on instruction, you’ll learn how to efficiently manage survey data, draft with precision, and produce clear, well-labeled survey deliverables you can confidently use on active projects.

This live online series offers 2 four-hour courses. You can take both courses or just the one that meets your needs. Each separate course is delivered in 2 two-hour sessions. A live instructor explains the detailed functions and addresses questions as the class progresses.

​Note: Instructor will present using Autodesk Civil 3D 2026. Students who wish to follow along with instructor are encouraged to use the same version.

Prerequisite: Students should have a working knowledge of AutoCAD.

Recording: Registrants for a course will receive access to a recording of each session for 7 consecutive days. Access will start the next business day after the session ends.

Creating accurate survey basemaps in Civil 3D doesn’t have to be complicated. This course guides you through importing and managing point data, creating and editing point groups, and using descriptor keys efficiently. You’ll also learn surface modeling techniques, from defining and building surfaces to analyzing and labeling them, giving you a solid foundation for survey mapping projects.
