BricsCAD tool palettes can be used to store customized versions of our commands. This can make us more productive by placing our commands at our fingertips and creating certain content on standard layers.
Creating a new palette is easy. Simply right-click on a tab and select New Palette, type a name for the tab, and click Add.
Commands can be added by right-clicking in the middle of a palette and selecting Add Tool.
The Customize dialog opens. In the right pane of the dialog, find the tool you want to add to the palette. Commands are stored within the categories listed but you can use the search field if needed.
Right-click on the command you want to add and click Add to Current Tool Palette.
The tool will appear on your custom palette. Close the Customize dialog.
Any of the Draw tools such as lines, arc, polylines, or circles (for example) can be further customized. By right-clicking on one of these tools, you can open its properties and configure how the drawn items will look by setting display properties layer, color, or linetype.
Customized palettes can be exported for backup or to share with other users by right-clicking on a palette and choosing Customize Palettes. In the Customize dialog, right-click on the palette in the left pane and click Export to save to an XTP file. Notice that there is an Import option here, as well to import XTP files.
Custom tool palettes are a simple way to create a wide array of customizations to your BricsCAD environment. Instead of searching through the ribbons for your commands you can place frequently used commands in these palettes which is a great way to streamline productivity.
