In the past, when we had to edit our surface triangles or points, we had to edit or change the style to show triangles and points basically so we could see what we were doing.
If we tried to skip clicking on those lightbulbs, we would get a warning such as this:
In Civil 3D 2025.1, turning these components on is not necessary. Choosing any surface edit option for surface points or triangles automatically turns on the display of either component. For example, if we select the surface and click Swap Edge from the contextual ribbon, immediately surface triangles display.
We can proceed to swap the triangles. Then when we press Enter to finish, the following dialog pops up:
Maintain Current Display will leave the surface points and triangles on and Revert to Original Style will turn them off. The first option does not create a new style, it modifies the existing style so you would still need to turn the components off manually when the edits are done. Choosing the second option restores the style to how it was prior to the edit.
This new feature makes surface editing go a bit faster and could nullify the need to have a style in the templates that shows surface points and triangles.
